What to Do? First Time Home Buyer Minneapolis

So your buying your first house.  That is great.  I think this an opportunity of a lifetime right now in the real estate market.  There are so many low priced homes for first time home buyers, you can really find a good deal.  What should you do if you are a first time home buyer? First, I would contact your local loan officer and ask him about first time home buyer programs available.  Right now there are FHA programs and first time home buyer loan programs for people with bad credit that will help you quality for purchasing a house.  Your loan officer will help you find out what your mortgage interest rate will be.  He could also give you a few class schedules for first time home buyer courses.  Second, I would contact a local Realtor in your area.  Get there advice on the housing market and explain to them what your looking for.  Your Realtor should be able to give you a lot of data and information about prices, taxes, and market trends in your area.  Lastly, go out and look at houses!!  There are so many great deals out there right now it is actually a little sad.  Because there are so many foreclosures right now, prices are very low and probably will continue to drop for a little while.  If you have any questions give me a call.
