Vintage Hardwood Floors Minneapolis

by admin on January 8, 2009

Everybody loves hardwood floors.  Nobody loves carpet.  I am not just saying that either because I am a hardwood flooring contractor.  OK, I am a little partial to hardwood floors, but I’ve been in a lot of homes and people around Minneapolis like their floors sanded. Here is the thing, in the old houses that have the older maple or oak flooring, people really like the look of vintage hardwood floors. The old 1920s houses with the oak downstairs and the maple upstairs; man that can really look nice once you get it sanded and get a few coats of finish on it. Sometimes in the 1950s ramblers the oak is actually unfinished wood flooring, they didn’t even coat the floor with finish. They just installed the wood and then put carpet right over it. I would take that carpet right up and sand that sucker. It would look so nice. Also, in the kitchens in some of these 1920s houses everybody put laminate on the vintage hardwood. They just covered up this beautiful stuff with something fake. Well I’ll tell you one thing; if I was them I would hire a floor sanding expert and show the natural beauty of that maple flooring. It doesn’t matter if you have distressed wood flooring, prefinished, oak, wide plank, or unfinished, give me a call and I’ll give you a free estimate. Remember, everybody loves hardwood floors.
