Urine Stains in Edina Hardwood Floors

The picture above is a urine stain from a pet.  They look like black spots on the hardwood floors.  You cannot remove them completely.  To remove the look you can remove the wood and patch in new pieces of hardwood flooring in the area were the stain is. Or you can stain the floor a darker color to conceal the visibility of the stain.  This floor in the picture is a house we sanded last year in Edina.  My clients remodel houses, very well I may add, and sell them.  They wanted to change the look of the floors and conceal the stain.

As you can see from the second picture this is red oak hardwood flooring that has a natural oil based finish.  If you do have urine stains on your floors, and if you are going to stain them, you should choose a darker color because that will reduce the appearance of the stain.

As you can see from this picture, the urine stain is barely noticeable.  We used a coffee brown on this floor.  It turned out really nice and the house sold fast.  I think it took about a month.  The remodelers I work with are really good.

Oak is a very nice wood to stain and if done correctly can turn out very nice and can really change the feel of your home.  I would say most people think the house feels more expensive and distinguished with darker oak floors vs. natural finished oak.
