Oak Floor Sanding South Minneapolis

by admin on April 5, 2009

This was a duplex that we sanded and refinished in South Minneapolis just west of 35W. It was a second level and the floors were red oak hardwood flooring. I would say they were in average condition for the year of the house. There were areas that didn’t have any finish on the floors due to high traffic and poor maintenance. The easiest way to increase the life of your hardwood floor finish is to keep dirt and water off the floors. I recommend purchasing a couple good outdoor heavy duty door mats.

People naturally will wipe their feet when they walk on them and it helps keep dirt off the floors. Next, I would regularly sweep the floor at least once a week. Back to the floors, we sanded this unit and got two coats down the first day. There were a couple areas that had some water damage and pet urine, we got two of them out, but the other two we couldn’t remove completely. However, we made them less noticeable.  We sand a lot of oak hardwood floors in South Minneapolis.  My goal is always to make them look as good as possible.

Wow, so much work! Who would have thought that sanding would be this exhausting?! The floors look FANTASTIC.
