“Northeast” (or “Nordeast,” as the locals sometimes call this community,) is comprised of 13 smaller communities including neighborhoods along the Mississippi River south of East Hennepin Avenue. Sometimes this region is referred to as the “Old Saint Anthony,” which is one of the oldest retail areas in the metro area. Northeast Minneapolis stretches along University Avenue, East Hennepin, Stinson Boulevard, Broadway Boulevard, and New Brighton Boulevard. Northeast Minneapolis architecture is interesting and varied; you will see a mix of everything from vintage housing to new commercial construction. Finding Properties

Generally, there are about two hundred or so single family homes for sale on the Northeast Minneapolis MLS at any given time, with an average asking price of under 200K. The average year-built of available homes is 1937.

Generally speaking, you can usually find about a dozen or so homes for sale under 100k, and prices rarely exceed 500k. However, if you keep your eyes open, you might get a chance to purchase a gorgeous Dutch Colonial on Stinson Parkway, or a nice tudor on St. Anthony Parkway. Many of these feature gleaming hardwood floors, stainless-steel appliances, and granite countertops. It is possible to find single family homes that have been converted into duplexes or vice-versa.
